Hi. I served on the Mullany 1960/1. Had some good times. I do remember the skipper didn't like the ET gang. He liked his beloved snipes. Anyone remember?

I was assigned to the Mullany upon my arrival from Vietnam in June of 1970. I was the ships cook, assigned as permanent party. The ship was underway on the weekends, and then the two week active duty assignments. It was a pleasure to have served aboard.

I was a SM3 and with the Reserve Crew in 1971. Now I am a police lieutenant with the Hunters Point Navy Police, and fighting criminals who are stealing copper from the old shipyard and doing other crimes. I would like more sailors to help fight crime too.

Thank you to all the Mullany shipmates and/or wives who have sent their condolences and prayers. I'm so glad that Bob and I were able to go to this years reunion in Columbus, Georgia. It was great seeing the Mullany family that attended.

My uncle, Dick Lawton, (deceased) was an electrician aboard the ship when it was hit in WWII. He was one of those who went back onboard afterwards to get it going. He had refused to learn how to swim during training! Bad move when having to abandon ship.

Mrs Melunis, Thanks for the update on Ray being interred in Arlington. I was a friend of Ray's and used to hang out on shore with him quite a bit. He was a really nice guy. Hope you are doing okay.
