I was on board Feb. 1967 to June 1969. Was part of the Whale's gang, STC Stevenson. I would like to know if anyone from this era will be attending the reunion.

My dad, Paul J Skurka, served during World War II and travelled with it through the Panama Canal and all over the Pacific. He was a Chief Petty Officer, did some time cooking and I believe fired anti-aircraft guns against Japanese Kamakazis.

I am proud to call Joe Raspante my Papa Joe. He went back onto the ship to cleanup after it had been hit by a kamikaze in 1945. Thanks for this website! I am grateful he is still with us,now my son will have grand memeories of him too!

I am the granddaughter of survivor Signalman Carl Oare. And I am very thankful after allthese years that I can learn a bit about my grandfathers history. Even though he has been gone for 13 years, I can see what he experiences almost 70 years ago.thanks

Last month was confined to a hospital bed in Saginaw MI and my room-mate served on the Mullany in the early 50s as a gunners mate, Ernest Marsh. Being confined to the hospital was not pleasant for either of us, but we had a great time trading tall tales
