I'm trying to put together a tribute to LTJG Robert Meyer DD528 1954/56. I'd love if any shipmates that remember him to share some stories, good or bad. Please send to clipner@gmail.com Thanks, George

I am sad to announce the passing of
LTJG Robert E. Meyer Jr. Gunnery Officer
DD-528 1954/1956. He had (Risky)surg.two months to repair a bone fracture. He risked the surg. because he didn't want to live in a wheelchair. He left on his own terms !!

I served onboard Mullany from 1/70 - 11/70 after swapping with an RD named Harry something. We had a three RDs CIC gang so it was challenging. A great bunch of guys, CO/XO.
This was my second ship with Tom Gallucci, (USS NJ), Summit.

It was Sattiewhite. I remember him standing just outside the aft compartment door, coffee in hand, red glowering eyes. I never spoke to him, he was scary looking! Fellow shipmates also commented on his scary appearance.
He stabbed 11 shipmates.

Also, I recognized some faces in some of the 1940's pics-from some of my grandfather's old pics. My dad has those, and maybe he'd share. Can anyone tell me who posts those pictures for the site? E-Mail me, if so.
